Alaska Asset Team Update on Mt. Redoubt--Alert level Remains at Red, 3/25

Seismicity has been relatively quiet for the past several hours since a brief explosive event at about 5:12 AKDT this morning. A minor ash plume may have been produced by this event, but it does not appear to have reached more than 15,000 ft above sea level.

Seismicity has settled back down after the explosion earlier this morning.

The cloud from the 05:12 AKDT is not visible on radar. It is unlikely that there will be any impact from this event.

A small explosion occurred at Redoubt volcano at 05:12 AKDT (1312 UTC). The cloud height is estimated to be about 15,000 ft and is drifting north to northwest of the volcano. The event lasted about 10 minutes.
